CWC is sending 4 talented Fellows to RISD this summer. RISD Pre-College offers rising high school juniors and seniors the chance to experience life as an RISD undergrad. For five weeks, Fellows follow a college-level curriculum with day-long studio classes, critiques, and projects.

CWC Year 5 Fellows attending FIT this Summer
This summer, we are sending six talented Black high school students to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) for their pre-college program, “High School Summer Live”. FIT’s Pre-college curriculum covers Accessories Design, Fashion Design (both sewing and art-based), Fashion Business, and Portfolio Development.

CWC Fellows Headed to California College of the Arts
This summer, four extraordinary CWC Fellows will head to San Francisco to attend the four-week fashion design program at California College of the Arts (CCA). The program includes three intensive design projects, guest speakers, and field trips.

For the past five years, Creatives Want Change has been shaping the future of fashion by providing pre-college programs, mentorships, internships, and outreach opportunities within the fashion industry. While these are our program pillars, there was one we have been striving to add—college scholarships. This year, that goal became a reality.

Aissata’s Internship with Avery Dennison
This summer CWC Fellow and FIT student Aissata interned at the material manufacturing company, Avery Dennison. She explored technologies like 3D sampling and CAD design. While there she gained insights into sustainability, inclusion, and digitization, witnessing how technology minimizes waste and improves efficiency.
Fashion & French Culture in Paris with CWC Fellow Kaleyce
This summer, CWC Year 3 Fellow Kaleyce, a freshman at Drexel University majoring in fashion design, studied Fashion Design and French Culture in Paris.

CWC Year 2 Fellow Nandi, a sophomore at California State University, Long Beach, majoring in Fashion Merchandising, recently completed an internship at the marketing agency R&CPMK as an Influencer Marketing/Talent Gifting Intern.

CWC Year 4 Fellows Head to San Francisco's CCA
Four CWC Fellows will be venturing to San Francisco to attend the California College of Arts (CCA) this summer! At CCA for four weeks students will get a sense of what it’s like to go to college for fashion design, and ultimately, to be a working fashion designer.

FIT’s Future Fashion Innovators
Of the 25 Black school students selected to attend pre-college programs this summer, 7 will attend FIT. Situated in the heart of New York City, FIT's pre-college program offers 10-day classes catering to students in grades 9-12.
