We’re excited to announce our 6th cohort of CWC Fellows attending pre-college summer programs this year. Fellows have been selected and matched to programs across our six partner design schools!

This spring, CWC Year 4 Fellow Mathias Parker presented his artwork as part of the MoMA Teens: Imagined Futures exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art’s Education and Research Building. This milestone marks an exciting moment in Mathias’s creative journey and reflects the level of talent, intention, and growth we aim to cultivate through our programs.

At Creatives Want Change, we believe access should never be the barrier. When our Fellows identify opportunities that expand their leadership, deepen their cultural understanding, and strengthen their professional network, we step in to support them.

While every Fellow brings a unique background and perspective, there are key qualities we consistently look for when selecting CWC Fellows. These traits help us identify students who will thrive in our programs and make the most of the opportunities we provide.

2025 marked a defining chapter for Creatives Want Change (CWC). As we entered our fifth year, our focus sharpened around one clear goal: supporting underrepresented designers. 

CWC Year 1 Fellow Aissata took her creativity and design skills to Decor Global, a private label company that designs for exclusive brands.

This summer, CWC Year 3 Fellow Kaleyce Majeed joined The Children’s Place as a Design Intern through our partnership with the brand.

This summer, CWC Year 3 Fellow Genevieve took her creativity and design skills to Nuuly, where she served as a Creative Intern.

CWC is committed to connecting our Fellows to internships that provide real-world experience, meaningful mentorship, and direct pathways to career opportunities in the fashion industry.

This summer, CWC Year 1 Fellow Isabelle took her passion for creativity and content to the next level, participating in an internship at Anthropologie as a Social Media Content Intern.

Four outstanding CWC Fellows are taking their fashion education to the next level. Two will attend the SCAD Rising Star program in Georgia, while two others are headed to San Francisco to study at the Academy of Art University. Each program offers college credit, hands-on instruction, and the chance to grow as artists among peers who share their passion for design.

CWC is sending 4 talented Fellows to RISD this summer. RISD Pre-College offers rising high school juniors and seniors the chance to experience life as an RISD undergrad. For five weeks, Fellows follow a college-level curriculum with day-long studio classes, critiques, and projects.

This summer, we are sending six talented Black high school students to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) for their pre-college program, “High School Summer Live”. FIT’s Pre-college curriculum covers Accessories Design, Fashion Design (both sewing and art-based), Fashion Business, and Portfolio Development.

This summer, four extraordinary CWC Fellows will head to San Francisco to attend the four-week fashion design program at California College of the Arts (CCA). The program includes three intensive design projects, guest speakers, and field trips.

This summer marks our 5th year of sending CWC Fellows to the OTIS College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Introducing Jashlyn, Riley, and Zahara—three talented Year 5 Fellows who are ready to take the fashion world by storm.

We’re thrilled to announce our 5th cohort of CWC Fellows attending Parsons Academy at Parsons School of Design in New York City. These students were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants spanning dozens of states and countries. Each brings a distinct voice, bold vision, and passion for design.

For the past five years, Creatives Want Change has been shaping the future of fashion by providing pre-college programs, mentorships, internships, and outreach opportunities within the fashion industry.  While these are our program pillars, there was one we have been striving to add—college scholarships. This year, that goal became a reality.

2024 marked a transformative year for Creatives Want Change (CWC). Learn about our incredible year!

This summer CWC Fellow and FIT student Aissata interned at the material manufacturing company, Avery Dennison. She explored technologies like 3D sampling and CAD design. While there she gained insights into sustainability, inclusion, and digitization, witnessing how technology minimizes waste and improves efficiency.

This summer, CWC Year 3 Fellow Kaleyce, a freshman at Drexel University majoring in fashion design, studied Fashion Design and French Culture in Paris.
